This book is wonderfully written, the author who was born a jew and latter converted to islam was a masterful writer and explained the atmosphere, culture, and prideful personality of the nomadic beadowins beautifully. Essad Bey (his pen name) pulls together the series of unlikely events that happened in a timely fashion in order for gods final message to reach the people of earth. In my opinion he touches on something that is often overlooked that the Prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) often eluded too which is that he was not bringing a new religion to the world but reviving it. He saw Judaism, Christianity and Islam as one and the same and he like moses and jesus was just a messenger of god and a mere man. He also explains the Prophet Mohamed's determination, wisdom, and eternal love for all people wonderfully as well. The only reason I give it a 3/5 is because there are some discrepancies in the book that are exaggerated or deviate from the Quran certain events that have said to happen in tis book are not necessarily true and the depiction of the prophet is skewed . either way if you are an open minded individual who enjoys learning about religion this book is for you.
